It is a well-known fact that growth is very rapid among children, and providing them with balanced nutrition is very important for their healthy physical and psychological growth. They require food that is high in energy and nutrients to support their rapid growth and high activity. At the same time, carb rich food that is likely to trigger obesity among them must be avoided. According to nutritionists, children who do not have access to proper nutrition are more likely to suffer from physical as well as psychological disorders such as stunting, anxiety or even learning disabilities.

At Peapods Early Learning Center we make sure that all the children get healthy and balanced meals and snacks at regular intervals spread throughout the day. Considering the fact that the pre-school children don’t have large enough stomachs to cope with big meals, we serve them small-sized meals at frequent intervals to enable them to ingest food in an optimum manner. In addition to providing them with natural and fresh sources of energy and nutrients, we discourage them from drastic dieting and the consumption of fad foods. We also make it a point to cultivate a positive attitude to healthy eating among the children.

We serve them five times a day – breakfast, mid-morning, lunch, mid-afternoon, and tea snack – with fresh and nutrient rich food such as boiled eggs, sliced pears, pork sausages, baked peaches, vegetable sticks, grapes and pineapple chunks. We are very well aware of the fact that this is an age of abundance and the consumption of fat-enriched diets, which are popularly known as junk foods, are becoming a fad among children. These fat-rich diets are causing rapid weight gain among many of them, and as a result, childhood obesity has become rampant especially in the developed world. We, therefore, make sure that we serve fresh, varied and fiber-rich food to the children to promote healthy growth among them.
